Perinatal and Pediatrics
As a mother, and now a grandmother of 2, Dr. Cheatwood loves to support women and their babies before, during and after their pregnancies. Gentle chiropractic care helps to improve health and comfort during pregnancy and reduces stress for labor.
Prenatal Care in Brandon
During pregnancy, a woman's body undergoes a number of different changes to accommodate the growing baby. As the baby grows, a mother's center of gravity shifts to the front of her pelvis, resulting in additional stress and discomfort in the lower back and pelvis. Pregnancy Chiropractic adjustments help with the back pain, neck pain, headaches, symphysis pubis dysfunction that are often associated with pregnancy.
The Webster Technique
The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment to the woman's pelvis. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of sacral misalignment of subluxation and or SI joint dysfunction. In doing so neuro-biomechanical function in the pelvis is improved which takes stress off the uterus.
Dr. Cheatwood is certified in the Webster Technique and has studied perinatal care with the International Chiropractic Pediatrics Associations (ICPA)
Newborns and children of all ages can benefit from chiropractic. Your newborn baby endures stress to the spine whether born by c-section or natural birth. Gentle chiropractic adjustment can restore proper neuro-biomechanical growth and development. We have seen pediatric patients with colic, ear infections, latching issues, asthma, headaches, digestive issues and growing pains. Our youngest patient was adjusted when she was 2 hours old. We use very gentle techniques that are different from the techniques for more developed or mature patients.
